Box Score BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Men's Tennis team dropped a 3-6 decision to Eastern Nazarene College Wednesday afternoon in a Commonwealth Coast Conference battle.
The Lions began by taking two of the three doubles flights. Jared Deibe (Oakland, N.J.) and Brendan White (Old Lyme, Conn.) collected an 8-6 win over Julius Opaschowski (Hamburg, Germany) and Henry Siercke (Hamburg, Germany) at #2. The Lions took #1 via an 8-0 win by Alex Partyka (Moscow, Russia) and Laurent Ruttkowski (Castrop-Rauxel, Germany) over
Grant Rosenberg (Melville, N.Y.) and Nick Spoor (Ballston Spa, N.Y.). Kyle Pierson (Redding, Calif.) and Kaden Swarr (Brighton, Colo.) defeated Jake Cole (Sterling, Va.) and Thomas O'Leary (North Easton, Mass.) 8-2 at #3.
Deibe helped the RWU cause with a 6-4, 6-3 over Pierson at #5, while O'Leary felled Swarr 6-4, 6-1 at #6. Eastern Nazarene would take the top four flights. Partyka beat White at #1 and Ruttkowski downed Spoor at #3, each by identical 6-2, 6-2 scores.
At #2, Siercke grabbed a 6-1, 6-4 win against Rosenberg and Cole dropped a 7-5, 6-2 decision to Opaschowski at #4.
Roger Williams (3-3, 0-1 CCC) hosts Emerson on Friday. Eastern Nazarene (10-2, 2-0 CCC) plays Gordon on Wednesday.
