Men's Track & Field Earns 7th at UMass.-Dartmouth Invitational

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass.—The Roger Williams Men's Track & Field team placed seventh out of 20 teams in the UMass.-Dartmouth Invitational on a Saturday morning.

In the 100 Meter Dash, Noah Lautenschlager (North Conway, N.H.) finished in fifth place with a time of 11.32. In the 200 Meter Dash, Liam Tracey (Greenwich, Conn.) placed in the top 10 and crossed the line at 23.56. He also placed seventh in the 400 Meter Dash with a time of 51.84 beating his personal record.

Matt Wozynk (Durham, Conn.) ran in the 1500 Meter Run and came in sixth reaching the finish line at 4:18.71 crushing his personal best.

At 17.09, Zach Santoro (Woburn, Mass.) placed sixth in the 110 Meter High Hurdles. In the 400 Meter High Hurdles, two Hawks finished in the top ten including Nick Pietrini (Southbury, Conn.) who also beat his personal record placing sixth and Zack Dowling (Ludlow, Mass.) at seven.

The Hawks excelled in the 4x100 Meter Relay placing fourth with a time of 44.25. The team consisted of Andrew Curran (Northborough, Mass.), Pietrini, Tracey, and Lautenschlager.

In the High Jump, Kyle Rector (Hopkinton, Mass.) and teammate Jacob Mailloux (Webster, Mass.) had top ten finishes at 1.75m and J1.70m respectively.

During the Pole Vault, Noah Hysong (Ledyard, Conn.) qualified for New England's placing second at 4.10m.
Mailloux and Nathan Parker (Higganum, Conn.) just made the top ten in the Long Jump event placing ninth and 10th.

Yesterday, Chris Malles (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) had a personal best in the pole vault at J3.35m as well as Ryan Rocheleau (West Hartford, Conn.) in the 1500 Meter Run at 4:52.02 and Colin Herschlag (Easton, Mass.) at 4:31.74 for the second week in a row.

Coach Sean Livingston said, "We were excited to see so many athletes improve yesterday as compared to the first meet last week. Hysong added his name to those who have now qualified for New England's and overall our top two p'vers are jumping very well. They have been working hard at each practice and the results bear that out. Tracey ran a superb 400 meter race, just missing hitting the NE standard. Wozynk had a huge personal record in the 1500 shaving seven seconds off his previous best. We are looking to get some key people healthy in the coming weeks and begin to put it altogether during the month of April."

The Hawks look to compete in the American International College Invitational on April 6th at 9:00 a.m.
