MANSFIELD, Conn. – The Roger Williams University Men's Track & Field team competed for the first time this season, taking second place at the Eastern Connecticut State Invitational.
 
Over the course of the meet, the Hawks earned five wins. Ethan Boivin (Tolland, Conn.) took the top spot in the 1500 Meter Run, while he also teamed up with Aidan Maguire (Brookline, N.H.), Tyler Freeman (Lewiston, Maine), and Will Tainter-Gilbert (Sandy Hook, Conn.) for first place in the 4x400 Meter Relay. Joe DePoalo (Boston, Mass.) won the Shot Put and David McArdle (Coventry, Conn.) took first in the Hammer Throw.
 
Kyle Rector (Hopkinton, Mass.) and Zach Santoro (Woburn, Mass.) placed first and second in the 110 Meter Hurdles, while Brendan Truman (Vernon, Conn.) collected a pair of third-place finishes in the 100 and 200 Meter Dash.
