KINGSTON, R.I. – Spencer Cartwright (Nassau, Bahamas) represented the Roger Williams University Sailing team at the ICSA Men's Open Singlehanded National Championship, placing 18
th overall for the Hawks.
Hawk Highlights
Spencer Cartwright was the lone member of the Hawks' Sailing team to compete at men's singlehanded nationals this past weekend. He got off to a bit of a rough start, with middle-of-the-pack finishes over the first four races. His best result was a 12
th-place showing in the second race over that stretch.
He would come back to take second in the fifth race of the championship to climb back into ninth place overall. However, that would be his best showing over the remaining nine races. After finishing 17
th in the following race, Cartwright's highest finish going forward would be 13
th in the eighth race.
