NEW ORLEANS, La. – Mathieu Dale (Christiansted, U.S. Virgin Islands) moved up four spots on the second day of competition, finishing seventh at the Glen S. Foster Trophy, at the Open Singlehanded National Championship at Tulane.
After collecting 77 points on day one, Dale sailed to 35 points, with five top five finishes on Sunday in a highly competitive field.
Opening the day with a second-place finish in his ninth race of the regatta, Dale continued his low scoring finishing fourth in the following race. After a ninth-place finish in race 11, Dale followed with a fifth place finish in race 12.
Dale posted his best finish of the regatta in race 13, finishing first, before following with a 14
th place finish in the final race of the regatta.
Coast Guard's Nicholas Reeser finished first overall with 80 points, 11 ahead of Tulane's Hamilton Barclay who finished second.
