Men’s Golf: Roger Williams Finishes 10th at Skidmore Invitational

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Roger Williams University men's golf team placed 10th at the Skidmore Invitational hosted by the Thoroughbreds at Saratoga Spa State Park Golf Club.
 
After the tournament was shortened to a single round to weather challenges on Sunday, St. Lawrence took the team title, finishing with a team total of 298 (+10) on the round, followed by Williams, Skidmore, and Tufts who tied for second with 302 (+14).
 
Roger Williams finished in the top half of the field shooting 313 (+25), remaining in the top half.
 
Sammy Johnson (West Springfield, Mass.) and Ryan Dacey (East Greenwich, R.I.) tied for eighth in the tournament, with 75 (+3) each. Johnson carded an eagle on the par five, sixth hole, and a birdie for the round. Dacey put three birdies on the card, birding the third, 12th, and 13th holes.  
 
Cal Tryder (Wakefield, Mass.) finished with a 79 (+7) for the round, with a pair of birdies on the front nine. Shooting a 43 on the back nine. Josh Peterson (Goffstown, N.H.) rounded out the scorers for the Hawks shooting an 84 (+12), carding identical 42s on the front and back nine.
 
Brendan Collins (Danbury, Conn.) shot an 88 (+16) for the round, rounding out golfers for the Hawks.
 
Roger Williams will prepare for the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Tournament at the Captains Golf Club in Brewster, Mass. The Hawks will then end their fall competition on Tuesday, Oct. 29 and Wednesday, Oct. 30 at the Conference of New England (CNE) Championship hosted by Gordon.
