BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University wrestling team finished seventh at the RWU Invitational hosted by the Hawks on Saturday.
The Hawks compiled 83 points, with Castleton finishing in the top spot with 190.
Spencer Fetrow topped his weight class at 197 pounds, finishing with a 4-0 record on the day. Fetrow won his opening two bouts by pinfall, before winning by decision in the semifinals and finals by a commanding 7-0 and 8-2 respectively.
Matt Lucas finished in fourth, battling his way into the third place match, after falling in his semifinal bout. At the 285 weight class, Jayden Toppan also finished in fourth, earning a spot in the heavy weight third place match, before eventually falling to Mason Sprinkel of Norwich.
Jayden Curley finished fifth after going 3-1 in contested matches.
Roger Williams will return to competition on Saturday, Nov. 16 at Williams when they take on the Ephs and Utica for a pair of dual matches.
