BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Men's Rugby team saw
Timothy Carlson (Hanover, Mass.) and
Simon Palombo (Riverside, R.I.) selected to the National Collegiate Rugby (NCE) North Rising Stars Team, and are set to compete at the National All-Star Competition at Silverbacks Park in Atlanta, Ga., on January 15-18.
Both two-year starters for the Hawks, Carlson and Palombo, have made key contributions.
Known for his attacking ability in open space, Carlson led the Hawks in tries during the 2025 campaign with five, totaling 25 points on the season. Carlson's pace, footwork, and instinctive playmaking have made him a dangerous offensive threat in the region.
Palombo helped anchor the forwards this season, leading the team in tackles and proving to be one of the most dominant lineout jumpers in the conference. His physicality, precision, and consistency in the set piece have been instrumental factors to the Hawks' success on both sides of the ball.
The NCR North Rising Stars Team is composed of 28 first-years and sophomore players from across New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine, representing programs across all divisions of NCR, including D1, D1A, D2, and D3.
