NEW LONGDON, Conn. – The Roger Williams University Sailing team took the top spot at the Southern New England Team Race over the weekend, edging out Boston College in a tiebreaker for the top spot.
 
The Hawks posted a 10-4 record on the weekend, with Boston College also registering a 10-4 record, falling in tiebreakers. Tulane rounded out the top three finishing 9-5, with a tiebreaker placing Bowdoin at fourth. The University of Rhode Island and Tufts rounded out the top six.
 
Roger Williams saw skippers Lucy Meagher, Kyle Pfrang, Carlos Bermudez de Castro, Oliver Stokke, and Mathieu Dale partner with crew Maren Matthews, Claire Buckely, Carter Sheehan, and Carly Kiss on the regatta.
 
In round one, the Hawks went 7-2 with their two losses coming to Tulane and Bowdoin, while edging out Boston College with a 1-2-5 finish. In the second round robin, the Hawks went 3-2 after defeating Tufts Boston College and Tulane, the Hawks fell to Bowdoin and Rhode Island. To secure the tiebreaker over the Eagles.
 
Roger Williams will return to the water on Saturday.
