Sailing: Hawks Place Third At Open Team Race National Championship

NEW ORLEANS, La. — The Roger Williams University sailing team posted a 16-9 record to finish third at the Open Team Race National Championship.

Roger Williams opened with a loss to College of Charleston before rebounding with a win over Hobart and William Smith Colleges. The Hawks added key wins over Northwestern University, Georgetown University, and Tufts University, while also defeating Boston College and U.S. Coast Guard Academy. Losses came against Dartmouth College, Harvard University, and Tulane University.

The Hawks stayed competitive against the top group, earning wins over Georgetown University, U.S. Naval Academy, Dartmouth College, and Tulane University. RWU dropped races to Harvard University, Stanford University, and Brown University.

Facing the top teams, Roger Williams split races, earning a win over Stanford University while falling to Harvard University and Dartmouth College

RWU Sailing will continue tomorrow with the Women's Team Race National Championships.
