NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Roger Williams University Sailing team finished first at the 64
th Jan Friis Team Race, while also placing first and second at the O'Toole Trophy over the weekend. The Hawks also picked up a top-three finish at the KP Open Team Race, while placing eighth at the Duplin Trophy.
At the Friis Team Race, the Hawks placed first after posting a 12-5 record, while edging out Stanford who went 12-4.

Oliver Stokke were the Hawks' skippers, with crew
Carly Kiss,
Addyson Fisher,
Jed Lory, and
Claire Buckley.
On Saturday, the Hawks sailed to a 6-3 finish, with their losses coming to Boston College, Harvard, and Stanford. The Hawks picked up 1-2 finishes in five wins, finishing their races with Coast Guard and Vermont with a 1-2-3 finish. In the first race of the No.4 vs. No. 5 Quarterfinals, the Hawks took the win going 1-3-4, over Coast Guard. The second race saw the Hawks advance with a 1-2-4 win.
Heading into the semifinals, the Hawks faced Boston College, taking a win with a 1-2-5 win, before falling to Boston College (3-5-6). In the decisive race of the semifinal, the Hawks had a 1-2-4 win to seal the championship birth. Against Stanford in the finals, the Hawks earned a 2-3-4 win over the Cardinal, before dropping their second race with Stanford winning with a 1-2-3 finish. In the decisive race, the Hawks swept the top three spots for the win.
At the O'Toole on Saturday, the Hawks finished first and second tallying 21 and 31 points respectively. The top finishing boat for the Hawks scored eight points in Division A while Division B had 13 points. The Division A for the Hawks' second boat earned 24 points, while Division B saw the Hawks with seven.
The top boat was sailed by
Jack Crager and
Caroline Felser with Division B seeing
Edward Herman and
Mackenzie Speece with a second-place finish in the division.
Connor McHugh and
Dawson Chambers-Tartaglino. The Division B winning boat was sailed by
Jakub Fuja and
Lexi Chigas earning seven points.
The division A boat sailed by Crager and Felser picked up two first place finishes, while finishing no lower than second, while their division B counterparts in Herman and Speece, tallied 13 points with two second-place finishes and a first-place finish.
For the second squad, Roger Williams saw McHugh and Chambers earn 24 points with two first-place finishes and a second. In the division B boat, Fuja and Chigas had three first-place finishes and two second-place finishes.
At King's Point, the Open Team Race, saw the Hawks finish with a 9-8 finish. The Hawks had

Jack Roman, and
Tristan McDonald were skippers, while
Ruby Hope,
Ethan Snyder,
Carter Sheehan, and
Frankie Sparrow were crew.
The Hawks earned six wins in the opening round robin, while falling to Bowdoin, Penn, and St. Mary's. Entering the top six, the Hawks picked up wins over Penn and Hobart & William Smith. The Hawks then sailed to third in the final four, after posting a 1-2 record.

In the opening round of the regatta, the Hawks went 5-3 with 1-2-3 finishes at Bowdoin. The Hawks losses came against Boston College, Harvard, and Yale. In the second round, the Hawks were unable to win a race, falling to 5-11 for the regatta.
Roger Williams will return to competition next weekend.
