TAMPA, Florida – The Roger Williams University Women's Fleet Racing Sailing team sits third after the opening day of competition at the Intercollegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) Women's Fleet Race National Championship Eastern Semifinals.

Stanford currently leads with 33 total points, followed by Harvard in second with 48 points and then the Hawks sit at 57 points.

In Division A, skipper Lucy Meagher was joined by crew Maggie Fleming for a first-place finish and a second-place finish before being paired with crew Mackenzie Speece. RWU collected 24 points in Division A.

In Division B, skipper Tavia Smith and crew Addy Fisher collected 33 points and one first-place finish on the day.
 
Roger Williams will return to action for day two on Saturday, May 16.
