BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Men's Swimming and Diving team put on an impressive performance as they won the TCCC Invitational with a total of 898 points, Colby-Sawyer would finish in second with 229 points.

After the first session the Hawks were in a commanding position with 265 points.  They opened up the second day of competition with a first-second finish in the 200-yd Medley Relay.  The squad consisting of #Phillip Jacques# (Durham, Maine), #Chris Andersen# (Shapleigh, Maine), #Zach Gillespie# (New Preston, Conn.), and #Michael Nappi# (Sherman, Conn.) won the event in a time of 1:42.75.  Later on in the 400-yd Individual Medley the Hawks would get a clean sweep of first through third as #Kevin Danaher# (Watertown, Conn.) took home the top honors and was followed up by #Austin Kelly# (Portland, Conn.) in second and #Jonathan Galuska# (Longmeadow, Mass.) in third.  Another strong showing was in the 100-yd Butterfly as #Teddy Swanson# (Glastonbury, Conn.) took first and #Kyle Bowie# (Keene, N.H.) placed second.  The Hawks would take the top four spots in the 200-yd Freestyle with #Tim Ragan# (Topsfield, Mass.) getting the win.  Towards the end of Session Two Jacques would provide some more excitement as he broke the school record in the 100-yd Backstroke with a time of 54.56.  Kelly would end the session with a win of his own in the 1650-yd Freestyle with a time of 18:30.06.

Jacques would strike again in the opening event of the third session as he broke another school record in the 200-yd Backstroke with a time of 1:58.49.  If that wasn't enough for the team to get excited about, they then took the top six spots in the 100-yd Freestyle as #Peter Walerysiak# (Bristol, Conn.) got the win, Bowie took second and #Dale Dubinsky# (Plantsville, Conn.) took third.  The 200-yd Butterfly saw another first through third sweep as #Philip Green# (Langhorne, Pa.) won the event.

In the 3-Meter Diving #Joseph Mello# (Seekonk, Mass.) would win with a total score of 405.75, he was followed up by teammate #Andrew Foley# (Framingham, Mass.) who posted a score of 318.00.

All of the Hawks participating put on a very good show and posted a final score of 898 points which was more than enough to get the win.  Colby-Sawyer finished in second followed up by the University of New England.  This marks the final event of the year for the Men's Swimming and Diving Team, they will get back in the water on January 23rd for a home meet against the University of New England.
