Women’s Tennis with a win on Florida Spring Break trip

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Roger Williams University Women's Tennis team posted a 6-3 win against Illinois Wesleyan University out of its three matches thus far on its Florida Spring Break trip.

 

Against Grinnell College on Monday afternoon, the Hawks faltered by 1-8 score. Jill Mackey (Redding, Conn.) scored a win for the Hawks in the loss.

 

In the win against Illinois Wesleyan, singles play proved to be the guiding force towards the Hawk victory. Mackey, Lily Osowski (Byfield, Conn.), Amanda Wolfe (Mansfield, Mass.), Caitlin Osepchuk (Ocean Grove, N.J.), and Libby Agner all posted wins for RWU in the victory.

 

Later on in the day, the Hawks suffered a 3-6 loss to Goucher College. Paige Cunningham (Wethersfield, Conn.) paired up with Melissa Perry (Bristol, R.I.) for a win at third doubles, while Leah Ribchinsky (Ivoryton, Conn.) and Katie Wilmes (White Bear Lake, Minn.) posted wins at #1 and #6 singles, respectively.

 

The Hawks' next match will be Thursday afternoon against Friday against Ramapo College.
