BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Women's Tennis team moved to the .500 mark with a 6-3 win over Springfield College Tuesday afternoon.

Leah Ribchinsky (Ivoryton, Conn.) earned two wins on the day with a 6-2, 0-6, 6-4 victory over Amy Shaw in #1 singles. Prior to the singles win, she, along with Caitlin Osepchuk (Ocean Grove, N.J.), took the #1 doubles match over Shaw and Kyla Walgren 8-5. Osepchuk also picked up a win over Walgren in #3 singles with a 6-1, 7-5 win.

Funmi Olowookere had one of the Pride's two singles wins, defeating Lily Osowski (Byfield, Mass.) 6-4, 6-1 in the second flight. Gabrielle Scribner had the other win in a 3-6, 6-2, 6-0 victory over Kristin Dono (West Boylston, Conn.) in #6 singles.

Also getting singles wins for the Hawks were Amanda Wolfe (Mansfield, Mass.) in the third flight over Talya Pessolano (6-2. 7-5) and Libby Magner (Lakefield, Mass.) in the fifth flight over Kristi Maltz (6-3, 6-4).

Roger Williams (11-11) will wrap up the 2008-09 season Friday at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth Invitational.
