Equestrian grabs sixth place at RWU/Brown Show

HEBRON, Conn. - The Roger Williams University Equestrian team finished off Spring Break by co-hosting a show with Brown University, where the Hawks took sixth place.

 

On Saturday, the Hawks completed against ten other teams. Intermediate and Novice Fence proved to be a strong area for the Hawks Samantha Taylor (Essex Junction, Vt.) and Jacqui Allred (Paoli, Pa.) both finished in first place while Alyssa Schankman (Newtown, Conn.) placed second in Intermediate Fence.  Alexandra Pastor (Westhampton, N.Y.), Erin Demarco (Florence, Vt.), and #A. Courtney Levitsky# (Phoenixville, Pa.) each placed first while Emily Pammett (Groton, Mass.) finished third in the Novice Fence.

 

In Walk-Trot-Canter, Danielle Stucchi (Framingham, Mass.) had a stellar performance and captured first place.

 

Shannon O'Keefe (Glastonbury, Conn.) finished fourth in the Open Flat Division. The Intermediate Flat Division also had strong performances, with Pastor and Schankman placing second and third, respectively. Demarco had another solid showing with a runner-up finish in Novice Flat while teammates Abby Hanc (South Hadley, Mass.) and Kyle Alexander (Tolland, Conn.) each took fourth place.

 

The Roger Williams University Equestrian team placed 6th out of 11 teams with strong performances, rallying in a total of 27 points, with co-host winning the show with 32 points.
