Men’s Swimming & Diving falls to Connecticut College

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Roger Williams University Men's Swimming & Diving team suffered a setback to Connecticut College Tuesday evening, falling to Connecticut College by a 91-174 score.

Phillip Jacques (Durham, Maine) took first place for the Hawks in the 400 Yard IM, coming in with a time of 4:29.32. Jacques also came in third in the 50 Yard Backstroke, clocking in at 26.59.

The Hawks also earned a win in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, with Christian Moran (Seekonk, Mass.), Rob Schapp (Torrington, Conn.), Zach Gillespie (New Preston, Conn.), and Mitch Vieira (North Providence, R.I.) finishing with a time of 1:33.38.

Andrew Rumore (Norwalk, Conn.) won the 1-Meter Diving event, tallying 208.57 points, while Peter Walerysiak (Bristol, Conn.) was runner-up in the 100 Yard Freestyle in 50.71.

Jacques, Walerysiak, Eric Thurston (Wallingford, Conn.), and Teddy Swanson (Glastonbury, Conn.) also picked up a second-place finish in the 400 Yard Medley Relay, coming in at 3:37.42.

Roger Williams falls to 4-3 and will take on Eastern Connecticut State on Saturday.
