MYSTIC, Conn. —The Roger Williams University Crew Team competed at their first regatta of the 2012-2013 season over this past weekend.  The Hawks traveled to Mystic, Conn. to the Coastweeks Regatta to battle competitors like US Merchant Marine Academy and US Coast Guard Academy.

The long day of 2K head races was highlighted by a bronze medal victory from the Roger Williams Women's Varsity 4 Team A.  Freshmen Andi Wright (Litchfield, Conn.), Casey Hudson (Farmington, Conn.) and Joe Tashjian (Scotia, N.Y.), along with juniors Sarah Kuhn (Keene, N.H.) and Anne Bersin (Keene, N.H.) all worked together efficiently to finish with a time of 9:27.7.

With the help of Riverfront Recapture (Hartford, Conn.) by allowing RWU to borrow two boats, 16 athletes were able to represent Roger Williams at the Regatta.  Continue to check rwuhawks.com for schedule updates to see when our crew team will be competing next.
