Women’s Tennis comes home with 9-0 win over Eastern Nazarene

Box Score BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Women's Tennis team improved to 6-0 at home Friday afternoon with a 9-0 victory over Eastern Nazarene College.

After rainy conditions throughout the week set back the date match twice, the two teams were finally able to get the contest in on Friday.

Roger Williams only gave up two points on the day, one of which came at #1 doubles match of Alexandra Brown (Kennett, Mo.) and Lauren Schmidt (South Windsor, Conn.). The two took down Tressa Burrello (Herkimer, N.Y.) and Jordan Cressman (Bowmanstown, Pa.) 8-1. Cressman had the other point for the Lions, falling 6-1, 6-0 to Kathryn Hughes (Westford, Mass.) at #2 singles.

Harley Kaiserman (Setauket, N.Y.) and Caroline McCarthy (Carver, Mass.) paired up at #2 doubles for the 8-0 win, while Hughes and Gabrielle Riley (Barnstable, Mass.) won by the same score at 8-0.

The Hawks came home with 8-0 wins at #1, #3, #4, #5, and #6 singles. Ali Stankiewicz (Brunswick, Maine) remained undefeated on the season, moving to 7-0 with her win at #6 against Jordan Price. Brown also extended her win streak to six with her #4 win against Bethany Mohnkern.

Roger Williams (9-3, 5-2 CCC) heads to Gordon tomorrow, while Eastern Nazarene wraps up its fall season at 2-10 and 1-7 in the CCC.
