The gained their 9th point on a side out and scored six unanswered points with Sarah McAniff (Redding, Conn.) at the service line.

Coach Ben Somera commented, "That was a good win against a good team. It didn't feel like we hit .240 today but we figured out a way to get a win. After the first set Wellesley did a nice job of changing their service mentality and it took us a while to settle back into our pass and serve game. Annie (Andrea Gorman) was huge for us today. Offensively she provide good pop in the center of the net but more importantly she had the awareness that the team need to loosen up and injected her playful personality on her teammates. I also felt like Kristen Boyer did a nice job filling in for Liz (Elizabeth Flaherty) on the left side today. Her number may not have been as efficient as she would like but it not that easy to flip from right to left. We had our struggles in the final set but I felt like the team still believed we could make up the early deficit after our final time out. We were fortunate to have our best server at the line coming down the stretch and everything worked out."

Gorman led all hitter in efficiency grabbing 10 kills with .562 hitting percentage. Sydney Carfagno (Los Angeles, Calif.) of Wellesley led all attackers with 19 kills and posted .200 hitting percentage while sticking a match high 22 digs. McAniff and Boyer each chipped in 13 kills with 16 and 17 digs, respectively. Brittany McMullen (Lancaster, Pa.) added 11 to give the Hawks their fourth player with double digit kills. Freshman libero Maria Batas (Merrick, N.Y.) led the Hawks defensive with 20 digs. Josalyn Benson (Phoenix, Ariz.) and Maddie Koh (Seattle, Wash.) for ended the match with identical stats of 43 assist and 9 digs for their teams.
