Box Score BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Women's Tennis team battled the elements but still came away with a 5-0 victory over Eastern Nazarene College Wednesday evening. A rainstorm during the middle of the match forced the Hawks and the Lions to move the match indoors and play to decision.
 
At doubles, the Hawks collected a pair of 8-0 wins at #2 and #3. Allie Grinavic (North Attleboro, Mass.) and Gabrielle Riley (Barnstable, Mass.) paired up at #2 to take down Veronica Jimenez (Lynn, Mass.) and Julie Sutton (Middletown, Conn.). Jessica Magliato (New Rochelle, N.Y.) and Caroline McCarthy (Carver, Mass.) earned the win at #3 against Hannah Lariviere (Biddeford, Maine) and Joanna Mohnkern (Petersburg, Pa.).
 
At #1, Juila Akerman (Greenwich, Conn.) and Kathryn Hughes (Westford, Mass.) rolled to an 8-1 win against Adele Duval (Redding, Calif.) and Lindsey Steelman (Darlington, Md.).
 
Akerman and Ali Stankiewicz (Brunswick, Maine) picked up the two wins for RWU at singles to clich the team victory for the Hawks. Akerman swept Jimenez 6-0, 6-0 at the #3 flight, while Stankiewicz took down Sutton 6-0, 6-1.
 
Roger Williams (4-1, 2-0 CCC) will face Worcester State on Friday, while Eastern Nazarene (2-4, 0-3 CCC) hosts Springfield.
