Springfield opened up a 10-6 cushion to start the match when Sanchez produced consecutive service aces and forced the visitors into a timeout at 13-8 when
Bridget Walsh (Garrison, N.Y.) put away an overpass.   Springfield continued to keep the pressure on earning set point when Donnelly powered a kill through the block, and Walsh put away her fifth kill of the set for the 25-15 win.

During the second set Roger Williams regrouped and earned a 14-12 lead as the Pride called for a timeout.   Springfield would get as close as one on three occasions before the Hawks scored three straight points to push the lead to 19-15 as the Pride burned around timeout.  Facing a 24-19 deficit, Springfield reeled off five-straight points behind the tough serving of
Rebecca Higgins (Orchard Park, N.Y.), only to have the Hawks answer with a pair of kills for the 26-24 win.

At a 16-10 disadvantage, a kill from Bancroft kicked started an 8-0 surge, which would ultimately result in Springfield take a 25-13 third-set win following a huge block from Walsh and vonKampen.

In the fourth, Springfield came out of a timeout trailing 9-8 and scored five of the next seven points to take a 13-11 edge but the Hawks responded three-straight points, getting consecutive aces to force the Pride into a timeout down 19-17.  Out of the break, the Pride went to Donnelly, who hammered three-straight kills to put the hosts back on top.  A kill from Walsh knotted things at 24, but the Hawks again used back-to-back kills for the 26-24 win.

In the fifth, Springfield used a 3-0 burst, however, a sideout kill from the Hawks would turn the tides as the visitors poured on nine unanswered points to snag the five-set win.  The Hawks had five blocks in the run and benefited from seven Springfield attack errors in an eight-point span.

The Hawks will host Curry College this Tuesday, October 10th for a Commonwealth Coast Conference match up.
