BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Men's Swimming & Diving team began the 2018-19 season Saturday afternoon in a pentathlon against Brandeis University.
Hunter Olson (Framingham, Mass.) led the way for Roger Williams, finishing second in the pentathlon with a total time of 4:50.64. He finished in the top five in all five events, including runner-up finishes in the 100 Yard Backstroke (56.90) and 100 Yard IM (57.58).
John Babuka (Richmond, Ky.) placed fourth in the pentathlon for Roger Williams. He earned a pair of top-five results for the Hawks in the 100 Yard Breaststroke (4
th, 1:04.86) and the 200 Yard Butterfly (5
th, 55.96).
Hunter Wronski (Shelton, Conn.) claimed fifth place in the pentathlon, coming away with third place in the 100 Yard Breaststroke (1:03.93) and fourth place in the 100 Yard IM (59.41).
Rounding out the top-five placers for Roger Williams were
Jeff Lyman (North Providence, R.I.) and
Eamon McKenney (Portsmouth, R.I.), who took 11
th and 14
th respectively. Lyman's best race of the day was a seventh-place finish in the 100 Yard Backstroke (58.81), while McKenney took sixth in the same event in 58.64.
Winning the pentathlon was Tamir Zitelny of Brandeis with a total time of 4:44.71.
