WORCESTER, Mass.—The Roger Williams Men's Swimming & Diving team earned sixth place in the Gompeii Invitational over the weekend earning 2423 team points.

Lucas Stencel (Warwick, R.I.) broke a school record in the 200 Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:50.07 earning himself third place as well.

The Men's 400 Yard Freestyle Relay team that placed fourth and consisted of Hunter Wronski (Shelton, Conn.), Hunter Olson (Framingham, Mass.), John Babuka (Richmond, Ky.), and Gabriel Pasqualucci (Southbury, Conn.) also broke a school record of 3:07.31.

Pasqualucci placed fourth in the 100 Yard Freestyle at 46.75 and Wronski came in fifth place in the 500 Yard Freestyle at 4:45.55 respectively.

Both Olson and Andy Paul (Sunderland, Mass.) came in seventh place in their events, the 100 Yard IM (54.70) and the 50 Yard Breaststroke (27.70).

Babuka finished 11^th in the 200 Yard Butterfly with a time of 1:57.96.

Coach Matthew Emmert said, "We are very proud with the effort and energy the entire team brought for each other this weekend. The Gompeii Invite is becoming the premier collegiate Invite in the Northeast. 

For us to make it back in every final, as well as place in the "A" final is a great indicator for the potential this team has at the NEISDA championships. It gives us confidence to continue to trust the process and excited to get back to work for the second half of the season.

It's always an honor to break school records, to come away with 5 at this point of the season is a nice, but now it's time to get back to work. Records are made to be broken and I know this team is hungry for more.

The Hawks will face Springfield College and Wesleyan University on January 19^th at 1 p.m. in Springfield, Massachusetts.
