WILLIMANTIC, CONN. – The Roger Williams Men's Swimming & Diving team defeated Babson College at Eastern Connecticut State University Saturday afternoon, collecting 131.50 points over Babson's 130.50. 
 
Eamon McKenney (Portsmouth, R.I.) had a successful day with three first place wins for the Hawks. McKenney claimed first place in the 50 Yard Backstroke, recording a time of 24.90. In the 50 Yard Freestyle, McKenney had a time of 22.89. The Hawks also grabbed second and third place in the 50 Yard Freestyle. Michael Sannicandro (Acton, Mass.) secured second with a time of 22.94 and Christian Montanez (North Chili, N.Y.) swam a time of 23.03 to get third place.
 
For his final first place of the day, McKenney swam a 54.91 second 100 Yard Backstroke. Hunter Olson (Framingham, Mass.) got third place in the 100 Yard Backstroke recording a time of 55.00.
 
McKenney and Olson also claimed second place in the 400 Yard Medley Relay with the help of their teammates Hunter Wronski (Shelton, Conn.) and Gabriel Pasqualucci (Southbury, Conn.) with a time of 3:35.81.
 
The Hawks secured all top three places in the 1000 Yard Freestyle. Kirk Schultz (Cos Cob, Conn.) claimed first (10.25.73), Wronski came in second (10:30.79), and Ian Zito (Cumberland, R.I.) took third (10.33.53). In the 200 Yard Freestyle, John Babuka (Richmond, Ky.) came in second with a time of 1:48.57. Conor Quinn (Milford, Conn.) came in third place recording a time of 1:49.54.
 
In the 50 Yard Breaststroke, RWU's Andy Paul (Sunderland, Mass.) claimed third place with a time of 28.51. At 54.39, Olson swam to second place in the 100 Yard Butterfly. In the 100 Yard Freestyle, the Hawks grabbed second and third place with the help of Pasqualucci at 49.29 and Babuka at 49.55.
 
Wronski came in first in the 100 Yard Breaststroke at 1:00.51 and Paul in third at 1:03.21.
Schultz claimed another first place spot in the 500 Yard Freestyle at 5:00.14 and Zito grabbed third at 5:05.64. Pasqualucci continued to help the Hawks with their win with a second place spot in the 50 Yard Butterfly at 24.21 and Montanez closely followed in third at 24.48.
 
In the 200 Yard IM, Andrew Reagan (Middletown, Conn.) secured third place recording a time of 2:05.02. In the last event of the day, the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay, RWU claimed second and third place. The relay team consisting of Babuka, Montanez, Quinn, and Pasqualucci came in second with a time of 3:14.58. In third place, Schultz, William Ebersold (Glastonbury, Conn.), David Anderson (Corry, Pa.), and Sannicandro recorded a time of 3:19.18.
 
Following the win, Head Coach Matt Emmert stated, "This was a great team performance!  It was a very exciting win for our Men's team, as it came down to the last relay. Although we didn't swim our best, they showed great resilience and now have our program's first undefeated dual meet record in history!

The Hawks will head to WPI next Saturday morning for the WPI Sprint Invitational at 9 a.m. in Worcester, Massachusetts.
