Men's Swimming & Diving Wins NEISDA Championships Four Years in a Row

KINGSTON, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Men's Swimming & Diving team won the NEISDA Championships yesterday for their fourth consecutive year. The Hawks came in first out of 14 teams and broke two school records.

Hawk Highlights
Hunter Wronski (Shelton, Conn.) won the Male Swimmer of the Meet award.
Eamon McKenney (Portsmouth, R.I.), Wronski, and Kirk Schultz (Cos Cob, Conn.) all won three individual events.
Bodie Ibrahim (Sunnyside, NY.) and John Babuka (Richmond, Ky.) earned first place in two events.
Ross Macy (Essex, Vt.) took home a gold medal as well.

School Records
Hunter Wronski broke the school and meet record in the 50 Yard Breaststroke at 26.00, the school record for the 100 Yard Breaststroke at 56.63R, and the school record for the 200 Yard Breaststroke at  2:05.44.
Bodie Ibrahim broke the school record in the 100 Yard Butterfly at 51.29.
Mckenney, Wronski, Ibrahim, and Babuka also got the school record in the 400 Medley Relay at 3:26.87.

Coach Matt Emmert stated," We're so proud of this team and the commitment to our goals and the sacrifices they've made to achieve them. With seven sessions, this meet can be a mental and physical grind.

We started off with great momentum Thursday and Friday. Then weathered the storm with Saturday nights finals, as it was not our best performance. The team showed their resilience with some amazing swims on Sunday morning and brought their best all-around team performance Sunday night to close out the win!

Winning championships is great, but we're most proud of the life skills our student-athletes developed and the lessons they learned along the way. These are invaluable traits of our program and we're so proud of the work our team members put in to make our program a success."
