KINGSTON, R.I. – At the end of three days of swimming, the Roger Williams University Women's Swimming & Diving team completed the Harold Anderson Invitational hosted by the University of Rhode Island over the weekend, finishing seventh in the event.
Noelle Schneider (Plymouth, Mass.) and
Ellie Field (Adams, Mass.) each had standout weekends for the Hawks with both claiming a second-place finish.
Competing against all Division-I schools at the invite, RWU largely held their own but ultimately did end up taking seventh out of the seven teams competing with a team score of 132. URI took first with 565 points followed by the University of Vermont with 548 and Binghamton University with 478.
After taking first in the preliminaries, Schneider wound up taking second in the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 56.92 to break the program record in that event. Field, meanwhile, finished as the runner-up in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 24:07. Both swimmers were also a part of the relay teams in the 200 Yard Freestyle and 200 Yard Medley. In the medley relay, they joined forces with
Kate Wieler (Bourne, Mass.) and
Bella Kuzbek (Manitou Springs, Colo.) to post a time of 1:49.33 to take eighth. The freestyle relay team that included
Gabby Carr (West Tisbury, Mass.) and
Callie Sullivan (Wrentham, Mass.) alongside Schneider and Field, also took eighth while setting the program record with a time of 1:38.29.
As a whole, the Roger Williams Swimming & Diving program saw 40 swimmers post personal best times out of their 83 total entries. That comes out to an 48% rate that was the best among the seven schools in attendance.
