SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Sarah Baker (Boylston, Mass.) took the top spot in intermediate fences to qualify for the IHSA National Championship for the Roger Williams University Equestrian team as she was one of three riders who competed at the Zone 1 Championships hosted by Mount Holyoke College on Saturday. It is the 15
th instance of an RWU rider advancing to nationals as an individual, but it will be the second time Baker will ride at nationals after competing with the team in 2019.
In addition to her top finish in intermediate fences, Baker also claimed sixth in intermediate flat for the Hawks.
Chloe Noyes (Manchester, N.H.) narrowly missed out on nationals as she finished third in open over fences.
Rounding out the RWU riders who competed on the day was
Sophie Failla (Boca Raton, Fla.) who took ninth novice flat.
