GREENSBORO, N.C. – Riley Williams (Arvada, Colo.) closed his season out, taking part in the NCAA Division III National Swimming & Diving Championships this past week in Greensboro.
Williams had qualified for the NCAA Championships, racing in three events for Roger Williams, the 200 IM, 400 IM, and 1650 Freestyle. This marked Williams second NCAA Championship appearance of his career.
The junior began his week in the 200-IM, completing his preliminary race in 1:51.68, finishing 2:40 behind his personal best. Williams was unable to qualify for the final in the event.
The following day, Williams swam in the 400 IM posting the 18
th best time in the preliminary round with a 3:58.35, just outside of the top 16 who qualified for the finals.
In his final event of the week, Williams swam the 1650 Freestyle in 16:19.06 finishing 26
th overall.
