MIDDLETOWN, CONN. – The Roger Williams University women's swimming team traveled to Connecticut to open the spring portion of their season by facing off against both Wesleyan and Springfield in a dual meet.
Starting off with the 200 Medley Relay, the Hawks'
Noelle Schneider (Plymouth, Mass.),
Bella Kuzbek (Manitou Springs, Colo.),
Avery Benigni (Meriden, Conn.), and
Claire Dombrofski (West Hartford, Conn.) swam to a third-place finish with a time of 1:53.56. Next, in the 1650 Freestyle event, the Hawks'
Ella Rothberg (Fairfield, Conn.) found a sixth-place finish, having a time of 20:11.51.
In the 50 freestyle, the Hawks' Benigni swam again for the Hawks, earning a fourth-place finish with a time of 25.83. For the 100 freestyle, Benigni earned a fourth place again finishing in 57.64. In the 200 freestyle,
Kate Wieler (Bourne, Mass.) earned a third-place finish for the Hawks, finishing in 2:03.73. In the 500 freestyle, Wieler earned a third place finish again for Roger Williams ending in 5:35.72.
In the 50 backstroke event, the Hawks'
Abigail St. Jean (Alexandria, Va.) finished in sixth place with a time of 29.72. For the 100 backstroke, Wieler found a third place finish having a time of 1:02.35.
In the 50 breaststroke, Kuzbek swam again for the Hawks, landing a third place finish with a time of 32.15. For the 100 breaststroke, Kuzbek found a first-place finish, earning in with a time of 1:09.46.
Moving on to butterfly events, in the 100 butterfly, the Hawks' Schneider swam again landing a first place finish for Roger Williams in 59.46. In the 50 butterfly, Schneider claimed another first for the Hawks, winning the event with a time of 26.69.
Finally, in the 100 Individual Medley event, Schneider earned the Hawks another win, finishing in 1:03.54. In the 400 freestyle relay, the Hawks' finished fourth after Dombrofski,
Isabel Tahlmore (Narragansett, R.I.),
Maggie Carroll (Albany, N.Y.) and Wieler finish in 3:51.70.

The Hawks will host Day 1 of Tech Sprints on Friday, Jan 24th at 4:00 pm at home in Bristol, R.I. before traveling up to Worcester, Mass. for the second day of the event.
