BLOOMFIELD, Conn. — The University of Hartford men's golf team claimed the 2025 Conference of New England (CNE) Championship title on Saturday at Tumble Brook Country Club, finishing with a team score of +6 to top the nine-team field.
Hartford pulled ahead early and maintained its lead through the final holes to secure the championship. Endicott finished in second at +14, followed by Western New England in third at +18, while Roger Williams University rounded out the top four with a total score of +23 on the par-72 Blue/Green Course.
The Hawks were led by Sammy Johnson (West Springfield, Mass.), who carded a 3-over 75 to pace Roger Williams. Josh Peterson (Goffstown, N.H.) followed closely with a 77 (+5), while Will Lafrance (Westport, Mass.) turned in a 79 (+7). Dante Hardt (Orange, Conn.) added an 80 (+8), and Ryan Dacey (East Greenwich, R.I.) completed the team scoring with an 84 (+12).
Suffolk (+26), University of New England (+30), Nichols (+31), Wentworth (+33), and Gordon (+40) rounded out the team standings in the one-round championship event.
The Hawks will continue competition tomorrow to round out the CNE Championship.
