BEVERLY, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Men's Golf team saw two members of the team recognized on the Conference of New England (CNE) All-Conference teams, after their performances at the CNE Championship this past weekend.
Sammy Johnson (West Springfield, Mass.) was named to the First Team after finishing fourth at the CNE Championship. Johnson carded a first round 75 (+3), followed by a second round 72 (E). Johnson finished with a two-round total of 147 (+3) for the tournament.
Landing on the second team is Will Lafrance (Westport, Mass.), who finished fifth overall with a 149 (+5) over the course of two days. Lafrance finished with a 79 (+7) on day one, ahead of finishing with a 70 (-2) for the second round.
Also honored was Will Reece (Charlton, Mass.), who was named to the league's Community Service Team.
Roger Williams will compete this weekend at the Skidmore Fall Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 11, and Sunday, Oct. 12. RWU will then round out the fall at the NEIGA Tournament at The Captains Golf Club on Saturday, Oct. 18 through Sunday, Oct. 19.
