ASHAWAY, R.I. — The Roger Williams University equestrian team placed fifth at the URI-hosted show at Hunter Ridge Equestrian, scoring 20 points behind strong rides across the intermediate, limit, and novice divisions.
RWU earned two blue-ribbon rides on the day, with Alexandra MacDonald taking first in Intermediate Equitation over Fences (Section A) and Annika Ormsby winning Limit Equitation on the Flat (Section A). Leah Folco added a runner-up finish in Limit Equitation on the Flat (Section C), while Lindsey Savoie took sixth in Limit Equitation over Fences (Section C), securing qualification for Regional Finals in Class 4 Limit Fences.
The Hawks saw additional point-scoring finishes from Lily Scarth (5th Intermediate Flat, 4th Limit Fences Section B), Mila Weilbaecher (5th Intermediate Fences Section B), Ella Dumais (6th Limit Flat Section A), Emma Gaeckle (4th Limit Flat Section B), Harper Madigan (6th Limit Flat Section B), Gianna Graves (4th Limit Flat Section C), and Jessica Quesenberry (3rd Novice Flat Section C).
The strong collective performance helped RWU record its highest team score of the season.
Roger Williams finished fifth overall in a competitive field. The Hawks return to action next weekend, again at Hunter Ridge, for the next show of the fall circuit.
