NORTON, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Men's Swimming team currently sits at the top of the leaderboard out of four at the Chris Fisher Invitational. The Hawks ended the day on Friday with a score of 479 heading into day two.
Roger Williams saw James Guilmette (Johnston, R.I.), Carter Brown (Lake Ridge, Va.), Dylan Gourlay (Mount Kisco, N.Y.), and James Augustin (Massapequa, N.Y.) complete the 200-yard freestyle relay in second, finishing in 1:25.51. In the 500-yard freestyle, the Hawks saw Gourlay place second with 4:43.28 and Evan Wysor (North Kingstown, R.I.) earn a third-place finish, posting a 4:47.32, rounding out the top three.
The 200 IM had Milo Stefanowicz (Point Pleasant, N.J.) earn a 1:57.06 time, placing third, while Thomas Brown (Katonah, N.Y.) led the way in the 200-yard butterfly with a 1:55.27 time, and Drew Hebert (Melrose, Mass.) also finished in the top five with a fourth-place finish at 1:58.77.
Babson took the top three spots in the 100-yard breaststroke, while the Hawks placed fourth through seventh, with Cam Hogg (Bridgewater, Mass.), Stefanowicz, Luke Austin (Essex Junction, Vt.), and Alex Weisenbacher (Beacon Falls, Conn.) placing fourth through seventh.
In the 200 backstroke, Brennan Keane (Middlebury, Conn.) was the top finisher with a time of 1:57.72, finishing fourth, ahead of Carter Brown, who placed fifth with a 2:00.46. In the 100-yard freestyle, Augustin took the top spot with a 46.01 time, with Guilmette being the second Hawk to finish the finals in seventh, 48.60.
Rounding out the day, the Hawks placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 400-yard medley relay, while Carter Brown, Austin, Thomas Brown, and Augustin closed out as the top squad with a 3:30.05.
Roger Williams will return to the pool on Saturday, Nov. 22 for the second day of the Fisher Invitational.
