BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – The Roger Williams University Men's Swimming team placed second out of three in Bridgeport on Saturday. The Hawks finished the meet with a score of 453.6, beating third place University of Saint Joseph (CT) who scored a 329.8.
The Hawks sent Thomas Brown (Katonah, N.Y.), Luke Austin (Essex Junction, Vt.), James Augustin (Massapequa, N.Y.), and James Guilmette (Johnston, R.I.) to compete in the 400-yard Medley Relay. The team finished fourth overall with a time of 4:12.26.
For Freestyle events, Alex Weisenbacher (Beacon Falls, Conn.) finished fourth in the 800-yard Freestyle with a time of 9:23.77. In the 200-yard Freestyle, Logan Szenda (Westfield, Mass.) finished sixth with a time of 2:06.69. Weisenbacher swam again for the Hawks, finishing fifth with a time of 4:26.82.
Guilmette was back in the pool for the Hawks in the 50-yard Freestyle, finishing fourth with a personal-best 24.57. Connor Poetsch (Randolph, N.J.) finished fourth in the 100-yard Freestyle with a personal-best time of 56.48, ahead of Guilmette who finished fifth with a personal-best time of 56.53.
In Backstroke events, Carter Brown (Lake Ridge, Va.) took second place with a time of 1:03.66 in the 100-yard Backstroke. In the 200-yard, Thomas Brown finished fourth with a time of 2:19.62.
Austin was back in the pool for the Hawks in the 100-yard Breaststroke, finishing second with a time of 1:08.59. For the 200-yard Breaststroke, Milo Stefanowicz (Point Pleasant, N.J.) finished third with a personal-best 2:34.48.
In the 200-yard Butterfly, Drew Herbert (Melrose, Mass.) finished third with a personal-best time of 2:19.19. In the 100-yard Butterfly, Stefanowicz swam again and finished fourth with a time of 1:01.52.
For the 400-yard Individual Medley, Weisenbacher finished third overall with a time of 5:00.22, with Austin finishing behind him in fourth with a time of 5:02.15.
Finishing up the day with the 400-yard Freestyle Relay, the Hawks sent Augustin, Poetsch, Carter Brown, and Guilmette. The team finished fourth with a time of 3:47.30.
Roger Williams with travel to Wheaton on Saturday, Nov. 21-22 and compete against Eastern Connecticut State University, Wheaton, and Babson.
