HAMPTON, Va. – The Roger Williams University Women's Swimming Team improved on their finish last season in their inaugural season in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, finishing seventh at the NJAC Championships this year.
The Hawks tallied 547 points on the event, while Salisbury took the top spot with 1419. Mary Washington placed second1394.5 points, while Rowan rounded out the top three with 962 points.
In the women's 400 yard freestyle relay, the Hawks placed sixth with a time of 3:34.34. In the 1650 freestyle,
Ella Rothberg finished in 24
th overall with 19:44.53 with
Lauren Clark posting a time of 19:53.74. In the women's 200 yard backstroke, the Hawks saw
Kate Wieler finish with 2:07.89 placing eighth overall.
Gabby Carr placed fourth in the 200 yard freestyle, finishing in 51.81, 0.12 off of the third place time by Spera Moy-Jacobs of Mary Washington. In the 200 yard breaststroke,
Bella Kuzbek placed 12
th in the event, with
Mattia McIntyre finished two spots back with a time of 2:28.36. In the 200 yard butterfly,
Kallie Fournier finished with a time of 2:18.93, as the Hawks rounded out the meet.
Roger Williams will await selections for the NCAA Division III National Championships, that will be announced on Wednesday, Feb. 26.
