PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Men's Track & Field Team saw a pair of school records fall, and another member of the team qualify for Indoor New Englands on Saturday at the Brown Invitational.
In the 60m Hurdles,
Griffin Hebert set a new school record in the event, posting a time of 8.65 in the preliminary heat, on his way to a fourth place finish in the event, finishing the final with a time of 9.10.
In the 300m,
Jon Gladstone finished in fifth with a school record time of 36.74,.
Burke Mattey finished in 10
th with a time of 38.28, while
Nathan LAbossiere and
Joesph Mallozzi each set personal bests in the event.
Oliver Polster was the top finisher in the 1000m run crossing the finish line in 2:43.44, with
Joshua Soucy hitting a personal best 2:50.25. The RWU squad in the 3000m was paced by
Nathan Evans who finished in fourth overall with a 8:49.50, while
Harrison Krause finished in eighth in 9:22.12.
Ryan Cotugno and
Colin Czuchra rounded out the top 10 with times of 9:22.81 and 9:23.79 respectively.
In field events,
Ronald Nolin was the top finisher for Roger Williams in the high jump, posting a height of 1.77m, with
Justin Diller finishing with a height of 1.67m. In the long jump,
Sam Bielawa jumped a distance of 6.47m.
In the shot put,
Enrique Maldonado led the way with a personal best 12.64m. In the weight throw,
Napoleon Suderman threw for 14.61m, with
Adam Goralski setting a personal best with a throw of 9.82m.
In the 4x400m relay, Gladstone, Labossiere, Mattey, and Mallozzi finished with a time of 3:35.28.
Roger Williams will send members of the squad to the New England Indoor Championships, on Friday, Fab. 28 and Saturday, Mar. 1 before preparing for the Outdoor portion of their season.
