Wrestling: Eight Named NWCA Scholar All-Americans, Rank 26th Nationally in Team GPA

MANHEIM, Pa. – The Roger Williams University Wrestling team saw eight members of the team named National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division III Men's Scholar All-American Award recipients, as announced by the organization, while also being named.
 
Along with the Individual honors, the Hawks ranked 26th nationally in team GPA, compiling a 3.516 team GPA.
 
To be selected, a wrestler must place in the top eight in a regional tournament, or wrestle 15 matches while holding a 66 percent winning percentage.  Academically, they must have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher or have an average GPA of 3.2 over the prior two semesters.
 
Tyrell Newmann, David Ras, Joshua Nieroda, Michael Forte, Jayden Toppan, Matt Lucas, Christopher Tringali, and Shaun McLaughlin were the honorees for Roger Williams.
