BEVERLY, Mass. - The Conference of New England (CNE) has announced their weekly awards for the first weekend of the season, naming Roger Williams University's TJ Machowski (Marlborough, Conn.) as the conference's Defensive Player of the Week in the sport of Men's Soccer.

Machowski locked down the Lions of Emerson on Saturday, helping the Hawks' defense earn a 1-0 win in Boston. In the contest, Machowski made seven-plus saves in the contest, as the Lions were unable to score on the goalkeeper.

Roger Williams (1-0, 0-0 CNE) will face Rhode Island College on Tuesday, Sept. 2, at 6:00 pm on Bayside Field.  The Hawks will then travel to Friday, Sept. 5, at 4:00 pm for their CNE opener against Endicott.
