SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Roger Williams University Men's Track & Field team delivered several standout performances at the Massasoit Classic.
Nathan Tassey (Whitman, Mass.) took the top spot in the 1-mile run, posting a time of 4:18.04. In the 3000-meter run, Colin Czuchra (Oxford, Conn.) took first place with a time of 9:16.39, followed closely by first-year Cole Walker (Cumberland, R.I.) posting a 9:35.28.
Tassey ran again for the Hawks in the 800-meter run, coming in second in 2:03.05. In the 1000-meter run, Oliver Polster (Wakefield, Mass.) led the Hawks taking third place with a time of 2:42.10.
In the weight throw, Enrique Maldonado (Taunton, Mass.) took third for the Hawks at 15.03m, followed closely by Napoleon Suderman (Winchester, Mass.) took fourth at 14.96.
In jumps, Jon Magliozzi (Wilmington, Mass.) took sixth in the long jump at 6.11m.
Adams Beccerra (Easton) placed 28th in the shot put at 10.53m.
On the track, Justin Rowe (Middlefield, Conn.) took sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.94. In the 60-meter hurdles, Justin Dickson (Londonderry, N.H.) took 12th with a time of 9.11. Will Hight (Rowley, Mass.) took 14th in the 200-meter run with 23.96. Hight also led the Hawks in the 60-meter dash placing 23rd with a time of 7.46.
In relay events, the Hawks quartet of
Jon Gladstone (Fairfield, Conn.), Dickson, Rowe, and
Anthony DeFilippo (Rockland, Mass.) took eighth in the 4x400 meter relay.
The Hawks will now turn to prepare for their next event when they return to Springfield College for the Triangle Classic on Feb. 20-21.
