Cross Country: Evans Announced as USTFCCCA as All-Academic Athlete, Hawks Earn Team Honors

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Roger Williams University Men's and Women's Cross Country teams earned United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Academic honors while, Nathan Evans (Lincoln, R.I.) was recognized with Individual honors.

In order to qualify for the individual all-academic honors, a student-athlete must have a 3.3 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top 25 percent in their regional championship meet. For the team awards the squad must hold a 3.0 GPA as a squad.

Evans, who is a construction management major, earned the honor after finishing 31st at the Mideast Regional Championship. Evans averaged a 5:11.1 mile, finishing the course in 25:46.4.

For the team honors, the men's squad finished the semester with a 3.15 GPA while, the women's squad earned a 3.3 GPA.
