BEVERLY, Mass. – The Conference of New England (CNE) has announced its weekly awards for the week ending on Mar. 15, naming Kiera Quadros (East Providence, R.I.) as the league's softball Pitcher of the Week.
Quadros appeared in the circle in three games for the Hawks, throwing a total of 13.2 innings of work on the week with 15 strikeouts and five earned runs off 14 hits. A junior, Quadros opened the week with a 4.0 inning shutout against Lasell, coming away with a 14-0 win over Lasell, where she allowed no hits with eight strikeouts.
Quadros' next outing came in a 5.0 inning performance against Mt. St. Joseph, allowing seven hits, with four strikeouts, falling 3-2 in a tightly contested matchup. Quadros then rounded out the week with a 4.2 inning performance against North Central, falling in another tight game, 4-2.
This is the third time in her collegiate career that Quadros has been named with the honor.
Roger Williams (4-5, 0-0 CNE) is scheduled to next compete on Saturday, Mar. 21, at home against Rhode Island College beginning at 12:00 pm. The Hawks will then host Coast Guard in a makeup of their postponed doubleheader beginning at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, Mar. 24.
