Women’s Lacrosse: Shamberger Named IWLCA Co-Offensive Player of the Week

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – Allie Shamberger (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) of the Roger Williams University Women's Lacrosse team was named the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Co-Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.

This marks the second time in RWU Women's Lacrosse program history that a student-athlete has earned IWLCA National Player of the Week recognition. The first gcame in 2022, when Hannah Goodwin was named the organizations Defensive Player of the Week on Mar. 15.

Shamberger tallied 19 points in two games, scoring a career-high 12 points in a 15-11 win over Conference of New England (CNE) foe Johnson & Wales, and tallying seven in a 13-4 win at Western New England.

Shamberger tallied five goals and seven assists in the win, against JWU, tying her career-high in goals while also setting a new mark in assists. Shamberger then tallied a pair of goals and five assists against the Golden Bears, while being responsible for seven total points.

Roger Williams (2-5, 2-0 CNE) will host Gordon on Wednesday, Mar. 25 at 4:00 pm before traveling to face Endicott on Saturday, Mar. 28 at 3:00 pm to round out the week.
