NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. — The Roger Williams University Men's Track & Field team showcased depth across all event groups at the Corsair Classic hosted by UMass Dartmouth, recording multiple personal records and strong finishes throughout the meet.
On the track, Tate Midora (Marlton, N.J.) recorded a second-place finish in the 800 meters with a personal best time of 2:01.88.
In the 400 meters, Justin Rowe (Middlefield, Conn.) led the Hawks with a 52.98 finish, closely followed by Jack Bates (Keene, N.H.), Jon Gladstone (Fairfield, Conn.), and Joe Mallozzi (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.). Rowe also led the Hawks in the 200 meters with a 23.36 finish, while Will Hight (Rowley, Mass.) finished in tenth for the Hawks in the 100 meter.
In the 5000 meters, Kyle Tarpy (Haverhill, Mass.) led the Hawks with a sixth-place finish with a personal best time of 16:14.40, followed by Cole Walker (Cumberland, R.I.) with a personal best time of 16:15.58. Colin Czuchra (Oxford, Conn.) led the Hawks in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:18.07.
In the 400 hurdles, Brendan Moore (West Springfield, Mass.) led RWU with a personal best time of 1:06.53.
In the field events, Enrique Maldonado (Taunton, Mass) recorded a 39.28m discus throw to place ninth, and added a fifth-place hammer throw (45.55m).
In the javelin, Justin Dickson (Londonderry, N.H.) and Jordan Kellis (Kennebunk, ME) placed fourth and fifth, respectively. Dickson threw 49.63m, while Kellis threw 48.21m.
For jump events, Ronald Nolin (Pepperell, Mass.) recorded a sixth-place finish in the high jump, with a 1.82m mark. Justin Diller (Arlington, Va.) placed eight in the long jump, with a 5.56m finish.
Roger Williams will look to build on the strong performances as the outdoor season continues on April 3 and April 4 at the Ocean State Cup hosted by Bryant University.
