ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Roger Williams University Women's Fleet Racing Sailing team currently placed in 10th after the final day at the ICSA Women's Fleet Racing National Championship. The Hawks finished with a score of 231.
Stanford jumped Yale to capture the national title with a score of 113, while Yale finished second (128) and Harvard took third (161).
On the water for RWU in Division A were Lucy Meagher paired with Maren Matthews. Tavia Smith was paired with Addy Fisher (3-12) in Division B.
Meagher and Matthews secured two top 10 places on the day, to bring the Hawks to a score of 132 in Division A. Smith and Fisher landed in the top 10 five times, securing three top five finishes. The duo had the top finish of the day as they placed fourth in their first race Monday morning. The Hawks shifted to a score of 99 in Division B at the conclusion of nationals.
This concludes the Women's Fleet Racing season. The Hawks earned their third straight National Championship berth this season.
