Sailing: Hawks Finish 11th at Open Fleet Race Nationals

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Roger Williams University Open Fleet Racing Sailing team finished in 11th at the ICSA Open Fleet Racing National Championship. The Hawks posted a score of 253 through 28 races.

Brown took the top spot with a total of 163, followed by Stanford with 174 and Yale with 211.

On the water for RWU in Division A were Carlos Bermudez de Castro and Addy Fisher. Kyle Pfrang was paired with Jed Lory in Division B in races 1-12 before Oliver Stokke sailed with Carter Sheehan for the last two races of the day.

Bermudez de Castro and Fisher recorded three top five finishes on the day, including a fourth-place finish in their last race. Their strong showing produced a score of 114 to finish eighth in Division A.

Stokke and Sheehan produced the best finish of the day in Division B, coming in fifth in the 13th race. The Hawks compiled 139 points to finish 12th in Division B. 
 
This closes the Hawks Open Fleet Racing Season.
