Hawks shut out Anna Maria

Box Score PAXTON, Mass– Junior Claire Halliday (Trenton, N.J.) led all players with four points on four goals, while goalies Amanda Magee (Columbus, N.J.) and Justine Sullivan (Norwell, Mass.) combined for a shutout, as the Roger Williams Women's Lacrosse team defeated Anna Maria College by a score of 13-0 in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference contest at AMCAT Field on Tuesday night. 

Halliday paced the Hawks with her four goals, while Danica Delia (Norwalk, Conn.), Jessie Alden (Bourne, Mass.), and Lauren Ferri (Northport, N.Y.) each had three point on two goals and an assist. Magee made eight saves to earn the victory in net, improving her record to 7-3 on the year.

The Hawks controlled this one from the start, scoring seven unanswered goals in the first half of play. Halliday netted three of her four goals in the opening half, while  Alden, Delia, Annie Alvord (Yorktown, N.Y.) and Dana Wilfahrt (Hamilton, Mass.) each chipped in with one goal apiece.

Roger Williams tacked on another six unanswered goals in the second half, including two by Lauren Ferri, to coast to the 13-0 victory. With the win, the Hawks improve their record to 7-3 (5-1 TCCC), while the AMCATS fall to 2-10 (1-7 TCCC).

The Hawks will take the field again on Thursday when they host New England College at 4:00 pm, while the AMCATS return to action on Saturday, traveling to face Gordon College at 12:00 pm.
