Women's Lacrosse: No. 2 Roger Williams Set to Meet No. 1 Endicott with CNE Title on the Line

BRISTOL, R.I. – The No. 2 seed Roger Williams University Women's Lacrosse team will travel to No. 1 Endicott College on Saturday in the 2026 Conference of New England (CNE) Championship at Hempstead Stadium.

Roger Williams enters the title game at 10-8 overall after finishing 8-2 in conference play, leaning on one of the conference's strongest possession units. The Hawks rank first in the CNE and 18th nationally in draw control percentage (.611), led by Miranda Hayes (South Burlignton, Vt.), who also leads the conference in draw controls per game (8.61) and was named the league's Specialist of the Year. That advantage has fueled an offense averaging 18.0 points per game, fourth in the conference.

Allie Shamberger (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) anchors the attack, ranking third in the conference in points per game (4.83) while leading the league in total assists (40). She is complemented by Lauren Canata (West Springfield, Mass.) and Jamie Anthony (Somers, Conn.), the latter ranking among conference leaders in shots on goal per game.

Defensively, Grace Rocheleau (West Hartford, Conn.), the CNE Defensive Player of the Year, leads a group that has helped the Hawks hold opponents to just over 10 goals per game, fourth in the conference. In net, Aizza Chase (Cohasset, Mass.) ranks top-10 in the conference in saves and saves per game.

Endicott enters at 14-4 overall and a perfect 10-0 in conference play, boasting the league's most efficient offense and defense. The Gulls lead the CNE in scoring offense (17.33 goals per game), scoring margin (+9.94), assists per game (8.78), and shooting percentage (.476), while also ranking first in scoring defense (7.39 goals allowed per game).

The Endicott attack features multiple high-level scorers, including Emerson Clark and Mia Smith, who each have 50 goals, along with Leah Black, who leads the team with 68 points. Defensively, the Gulls allow just 7.4 goals per game, anchored by goalkeeper Severine Michel (7.31 GAA).

The Hawks will be facing off against the Gulls for the ninth time in 10 conference tournaments in the championship, with the Hawks coming away with the title in four of those matches. Endicott is looking for their 15th title in women's lacrosse and Roger Williams will be looking for their fifth in program history.
