BRISTOL, R.I. – Roger Williams University junior Claire Halliday (Trenton, N.J.) and senior Kasey Beckwith (Franklin, Conn.) each tallied five goals in the Women's Lacrosse team's 16-4 home victory Thursday over The Commonwealth Coast Conference opponent Salve Regina University.

The Hawks needed just 25 seconds to score – a goal by Beckwith with an assist from Halliday. RWU senior Jessie Alden (Bourne, Mass.) scored only 35 seconds later on a free position shot. After Danica Delia (Norwalk, Conn.) scored an unassisted tally at 23:19, Salve Regina got on the board with a free position goal by freshman Kelly Burke (Georgetown, Mass.). It would be the lone goal of the half for the Seahawks, while RWU went on to score eight-straight goals for the 11-1 halftime lead.

RWU continued its scoring streak in the second half, notching the first four goals before Burke again broke the scoring streak. Beckwith scored the Hawks' final goal at 9:36 before Salve Regina seniors Sarah Baker (Summit, N.J.) and Erika Curtin (Huntington, N.Y.) moved the score to 16-4 by the final horn.

RWU picked up 12 of the 13 draw controls in the first half and totaled 20 shots compared to Salve Regina's six. Hawks senior goalkeeper Amanda Magee (Columbus, N.J.) recorded nine saves in just over 45 minutes of play, while teammate Justine Sullivan stopped one in the final 13:15. Salve Regina sophomore goalkeeper Natalie Balletta (Leominster, Mass.) recorded five saves in 60 minutes.

RWU continues TCCC play Saturday in New London, N.H. against Colby-Sawyer College. Salve Regina hosts Anna Maria College Saturday. Both games are scheduled for 1 p.m.
