Box Score BRISTOL, R.I. – Endicott clips Roger Williams Women's Lacrosse 12-8 in Commonwealth Coast Conference action. The Hawks drop to 2-5 on the season and the Gulls improve to 5-1.
Endicott took the early lead with a goal from Emily Whitney (Rye, N.H.) at 29:13 in the half. The Hawks answered back at 27:18 when Deven Machette (Norwalk, Conn.) found the back of the net to even the contest at 1-1. Endicott's, Callie Murphy (Woburn, Mass.) had a hand in the next two goals finding an open Kristen Thor (Longmeadow, Mass.) at 23:10 and then finishing on another to put Gulls up 3-1.
RWU scored the next three goals to tie and take their only lead when McKenna Everding (Fayetteville, N.Y.) scored on a pass from Jessica Searl (Glastonbury, Conn.) and Samantha Davenport (Bethel, Conn.) found her mark on an assist from Kelsey Rahilly (E. Longmeadow, Mass.). Machette successful free position shot at 13:14 putting the Hawks on top 4-3.
Not to be out done, the Gulls put their own three-goal run together when Ellie Clayman (Beverly, Mass.) scored on two back-to-back free position shots at 11:31 and 5:04 and Meghan Lennon (Canton, Mass.) took a pass from Siri Mason (Williamstown, MA) at 3:10 which brought the score to 6-4 in favor of the Gulls.
The Gulls maintained their focus and momentum, opening with another three-goal streak coming out of the halftime break bringing the score to 9-4. Two scores from Murphy and a goal from Rachel Campos (Shrewsbury, Mass.) put the Gulls in command with 16:35 to play.
The Hawks answered by mounting a two goal run when Kristen Pingree (Georgetown, Mass.) capitalized on a free position shot at 14:14 and Rahilly found Searl for another Hawks score to put the contest at 6-9 with 13:11 remaining but the Gulls maintained their offensive pressure by responding with a goal at 11:54 from Whitney assisted by Campos.
The squads traded successful free position attempts by Pingree and Clayman followed by unassisted goal by Rahilly and Murphy to finalize the score at 12-8
Kimberly Bolk (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) and Annie Bartkus combined for three saves in the loss while Ryan Socolow (Westford, Mass.) made two saves and collected the win.
